Software Engineer
Medical, Biotech, Cleantech & Consumer Product Industries
eg technology is growing into one of the UK’s leading product engineering consultancies, serving the medical, biotech, cleantech & consumer product industries. We work with small, fast-growing companies as well as leading blue-chips in the UK and Europe who require a long-term relationship with an outsourced development partner.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will have:
- a good understanding of the principles of software engineering, including specification and validation within the full software development life-cycle
- a proven track record in developing Windows applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET and WPF
- software testing including unit tests
- the ability to communicate with colleagues, clients and suppliers
- a logical approach to solving problems, with good numeracy skills
- the initiative to work alone and as part of a team, with good time management
- competency in the use of word processor, spreadsheet and email applications
- a good honours degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience/training
The following skills would be advantageous:
- familiarity with medical device software development using ISO 62304
- with agile development methodologies (e.g. SCRUM)
A willingness to learn and to develop new skills on the job is essential.
As a key part of the software team you will work closely with project managers and other members of multi-disciplinary teams. You will have contact with clients and suppliers and will work during the full lifecycle of projects.
